The Impact of Quranic Reading Variations on Quranic Stories With Specific Reference to Stories about Women / Namshah Abdullah Al-Twaalah
This research studies the stories of women in the Qur'an, namely the stories with variations in reading specific verses according to the Ten Ways of Quranic Readings. The reading variations give rise to differences in understanding the stories. The research also studies the orientation of the readings as well as their impact of the differences on the Qur'anic stories. It consists of an introduction, six sections and a conclusion. Among the important findings of the research are the following: - Reading variations are a source of rhetorical, contextual anecdotes. - Reading variations of some verses might suggest contradictions in meaning. - In the light of varied understandings resulting from the reading variations, due attention should be given to the study of rhetorical eloquence in the Qur'an
