A Critical Study of the Relationship between Experimental Sciences and Prophets' Miracles in the Qur'an / Abdulsalam Saleh Al-JarAllah
Recent times have witnessed a surge in studies on scientific miracles in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Interested researchers have been engaged in explaining several phenomena and issues mentioned in the Qur'an from the perspective of experimental sciences. Among the issues are the miracles of prophets. The research aims to investigate the relationship between experimental sciences and the miracles in terms of: 1- identifying the miracles and their related scientific evidences; 2- refutation; and 3- interpreting them as nonmiraculous. The research inVol.ves specific cases and gives definitions of experimental sciences and miracles as well as the significance of miracles for faith purposes. The research reveals the drawbacks of attempting to link prophets' miracles to modern scientific discoveries. It recommends that attempts to explain such miracles along experimental science lines be thoroughly monitored, especially with respect to belief in the unseen. Employing modern sciences in explaining the miracles should not be inconsistent with the aims and rules of Shari'ah.
