The Term “Night” in the Glorious Qur’an: An Objective Study / Abdullah Salih Al-Khudhairy
This research discusses the concept of “night” in the Glorious Qur’an. It defines the concept, providing some related statistics,
as well as data on night’s states, motion and works. The research aims to explain what night inVol.ves and what occurs during the night. The
research follows an inductive approach. Among the most important findings of the research is that Shari’ah associates “night” with concepts
of worship continuity, and that Allah has revealed miracles to His worshippers during the night, as in the case of Al-Isra’ (the Prophet’s night
journey to Almasjid Alaqsa, in Al-Quds,, and Al-Mi’raaj (the Prophet’s ascension to Heaven,. The research recommends that studies be
conducted on portions of the night and the day, investigating associated issues, with particular reference to psychological and educational
dimensions, as well as the lessons that can be drawn from related Qur’anic terms and verses.
