Imam Abu-Jaafar’s Distinct Approach to Qur’anic Reading: An Applied Study/ Ahmad Ali Abdullah Al-Sudais
This research is concerned with the study of aspects of Abu-Jaafar Al-Madany’s distinct approach to Qur’anic reading. It
highlights aspects of distinction, showing how his approach differs from the jama’ah ways of Qur’anic reading with respect to meaning. It
aims to examine the significance of differences among ways of Qur’anic reading in showing the marvelous uniqueness of the Qur’an. The
research follows an analytical approach. With respect to results, the research shows the aspects of rhetorical distinction in the ways of
Qur’anic readings, the need for such a type of study of the Qur’an and how the reading ways of the three imams lack explicit reference to
aspects of distinction. The research recommends that academic courses be developed to study issues related to Qur’anic uniqueness revealed
by the ways of Qur’anic readings in the concerned departments.
