Foundations of Ethical Education of the Muslim Preacher in Relation to Contemporary Reality/ Adnan Mustafa Khatatba
The present research is concerned with the study of the foundations of the ethical education of preachers for contemporary
realities. It aims at showing the importance of ethical education of preachers, its tools and motives and its implications for Islamic Da’wah
(call to Islam,. Adopting a deductive approach, the research has reached a number of conclusions, some of which are the following:
successful educational techniques enhance the ethical education of preachers; the development of the preacher’s ethical values is greatly
influenced by the type of companions, role models, supplication and observance of worship acts; the preacher’s ethical level is enhanced by
the desire to gain rewards from Allah and succeed at the Da’wah and social levels; and the conduct of the preacher reflects the unique
identity and features of the Muslim society and civilization. Among the most important recommendations of the research are the following: there should be training courses on ethical values for preachers; and colleges of Shari’ah should provide a special track for the development of preachers’ ethical behaviour.
