Ibn-Omar’s Hadith on the Divorce of Menstruating Women / abdullah marhool salim al sawalmeh

This research is concerned with Ibn-Omar’s Hadith on the divorce of menstruating women. It aims to study that Hadith
academically from the perspectives of narration requirements and text requirements. The following are some of the research findings: the
Hadith is of the mutawaatir category (related by a great number of narrators in succession,; it enjoys the consensus of the sahaabah, muftis
among the taabi’is (early Muslims succeeding the generation of sahaabah, i.e. the Prophet’s companions, and the post-taabi’is on the view
that such divorce is valid, regardless of opposing views. There is no evidence to suggest that any among the salaf claimed that such divorce
was not valid. The research recommends that more extensive in-depth studies be conducted on problem Hadiths, containing sophisticated
issues.
