Imam Ahmad Ibn-Hanbal’s Views on Particular Jurisprudence Issues Reported by Abu-Bakr Almarruthiy / Abdulrahman Ibn-Ali Ibn-Sulaiman Al-Turaiqy
This research is concerned with Imam Ahmad Ibn-Hanbal’s criminal fiqh (jurisprudence,. It deals with eleven issues on
crime. The bulk of the issues was passed on by Abu-Bakr Almarruuthiy, who was one of Ibn-Hanbal’s distinguished students and was very
close to him. The research investigates Almarruuthiy’s narratives of the issues in question. It also compares them with the narratives of
others that reported those issues. Agreements and disagreements among narratives are identified. The value of the study lies in pinpointing
the personal views of Ibn-Hanbal on specific criminal issues. It also shows the gradual nature of his ijtihaad in issuance of rulings. This
explains differences among related narratives.
