Stopping or Pausing during Quranic Recitation and Its Impact on Meaning / Sir El-Khatim El-Hassan Omer
The issue of stopping or pausing while reciting the Holy Quran is considered one of the most influential issues that affect and clarify the meaning of the verses. This study aims at explaining that effect and in doing so the study has defined pausing or stopping. clarified its various ramifications. stated its regulations and its impact on meaning as well as its lawful religious stipulations. It is well known that anyone reciting the Holy Quran cannot avoid pausing or stopping at each one of its thirty parts (ajza) and at half of each part (hizb) and at the quarter (rub'). Consequently. this study has investigated this stopping or pausing and its origin. Besides, it has answered the question of whether or not it should be adhered to. This study is concluded with a few results which were reached after researching deeply into this issue.
