Musa's Call to Pharaoh in the Holy Qur'an and the Distorted Torah: A Comparative Study / Sulaiman Bin Qasim Al-' ied
This research study aims to pinpoint one aspect of the distorted Torah through an in depth study of the Prophet Musa's call to Pharaoh as stated in the Holy Qur'an, compared to its distorted version in the Torah. The study offers a comparison between what the Torah and what the Holy Quran say about this issue.
The Prophet Musa's call to the tyrant Pharaoh has been specified in both the Holy Qur'an and the Torah. Therefore, presumably, the versions of this story in the Torah and the Holy Qur'an should conform fully as they both come from one source. Thus, any distortions of or deviations from what is being stated in the Quran must be taken as categorical evidence of distortions in the Torah.
Having conducted a comparative analysis of the texts concerning this issue, starting with the revelations to Musa and how he received them, and proceeding through to the Qur'anic verses supporting his call to Pharaoh, to the story of his rescue and that of his people contrasting with Pharaoh's and his people's destruction, I have concluded that the Torah includes the following distortions: that the deity and divinity of God is the sole privilege of the Hebraic nation and its forefathers; that Musa , Moses, did not accept all divine commands from Allah; that Pharaoh's magicians were able to confront Musa with signs of their own powers; and that Musa was acknowledged by Pharaoh as God, and Harun , Aaron, as Musa's prophet
Finally and above all, the Torah makes reference to the superiority of the Israelites as they are the chosen people of Allah. These stories constitute hard-core evidence of the distortions that have occurred in the Torah.
